Happy Birthday Kiersten!

Happy Birthday Kiersten!

I drove down to Chris and Kim's for Kiersten's Birthday Party on Saturday. She had such a great time and Kim what a party planner! Everyone was helping to get the final things ready when I arrived. It took me 3 hours to get down there, because of all the road construction. I was only 9 miles short of Chris's exit and was going 10 miles per hour.

I helped do what I could to finish things off before all the kids arrived. It was not 15 minutes later that all the kids started to come. Kim had planned many fun games. Making photo frames, dog bone digging and burying bones in the dirt, bean bag toss. Then it was time for Cake! What a cake too! Then she opened presents. She received a lot of nice things too. It was getting toward the end and all the children were getting tired, and that includes mom too. She was up til after 2am finishing up the cake. Kim, I give you all the credit in the world, you did a great job.

Not much else was really happening this weekend. I was so glad to go down and see Chris and his family, and I think that they were glad I came too. I love them all so much and miss seeing them.

I am going to sign off for now. I wish everyone the best in life.

I leave you with is photo of some of the colors. This was taken on my way home from PA. It was taken on I-88 just below Afton.

As always, you all remain in my thoughts and prayers. Stay happy, healthy, and safe. Safe driving to all those who need to travel.

What an Air Show!

As you can see, even Rocky and Bullwinkle attended!

What a great Air Show! Everyone who came out to see it, thank you. Those who did not come out you missed a fantastic show.

John's friend from school (he grew up with) was there again. It was so good to see Chris Brown. He use to live on Washington Street when we lived on Jefferson Street. Chris has been flying planes for over 20 years now and has quite the collection.

The air show had a great day to fly, the sky was so blue. Only one major crash though today. It was a B-25. The wings were not damaged too bad, but the body of the plane can be used as kindling wood it splintered so badly. There was quite a bit of wind blowing, but the heavier planes did not seem to have too much of a problem flying. I have some photos from the show that can be seen in the Joanne's Photos section. Please check it out.

This will be a short note and I will post some more later in the week, depending on what is happening.

Love to all. You are always in my thoughts and prayers. Please stay safe.

I am going to leave you with this picture of some of the trees turning. This photo was taken on my way home from the Air Show. This was taken on County route 8 between Gilbertsville and Otego. Hope you enjoy it.

It's been a while.

Well, there is happy news from Amy and Jason. They just found out they are going to have a baby. It was unexpected, but both are very happy!

Amy is due the end of April or the beginning of May. She is only 7 weeks along. The baby looks very healthy on the ultrasound they did in the ER. She is going to see the GYN sometime soon for further information.

Amy and Jason plan to marry in a private ceremony in December and then have a regular wedding in June. The baby just came unexpectedly and altered their plans a slight bit. Everyone please wish the happy couple their best for a safe, full term, healthy baby boy or girl. Please keep them in your prayers.

Again Friday is here and another short day at work! The weekends seem to be too short! The day light is getting shorter too. It is dark in the morning when I go to work at and remains dark until about 6 or 6:15, then is dark at night at around 7:30, where is the daylight going?

I guess it is fall, but you would never know it by the weather outside, it is more like late spring.

The trees are really turning on the hills over by work, but in our backyard, the leaves are still green? I want to post some pictures, but I will have to take some on my way home from work. We will see what happens, the nights are in the high 40's and low 50's, so it should trigger some changing here too. I did notice that next week, it is suppose to be only in the 60's, maybe we will be getting some frost then too.

Shelly has a new job at Arbys. I think she is enjoying it, but I have not really spoken to her yet. Sue said she only started last Monday and has not really had time to take it all in yet. I wish her may best. When she was working at Dunkin Donuts, she really did enjoy the paychecks she received and missed them when she left there. Good luck to her and I hope she enjoys her new job and the people she is working with.

This afternoon John and Nancy asked me to go over to the plane show. While there I took some great pictures. Everyone should go and see these planes. There were all different styles, sizes, etc. The big show will be tomorrow afternoon (Saturday) starting at 12. Come over and check it out. They will also be flying on Sunday afternoon. There is a $3 donation going toward The Oneonta R/C Flyers. Bring a chair, you can buy food there.

Well, this is going to be a short post, not much is really happening here.

As always, you all are in my thoughts and prayers. Please stay safe, healthy, and happy!

Happy Birthday Shannon

Kiersten on her first day of school.

Today is Shannons Birthday and I wish her the best. She is a girl I work with.

Well, it is rainny here today. We really need the rain too. It does not help that I am trying to dry my clothes on the line, but I will take them upstairs and put them on a hanger and let them dry there. They should be dry by morning.

What a race last night. I really think that DEI and RCR should go back to the drawing board with their engine program! Last night may have cost JR his chance to win, again. It will never be known if he would have gotten in to the chase or not, it was really close, but another 5 laps to go race and the engine blows again....

Kiersten started school and she loves it. By the end of the day David is asking where Kiersten is. Kim took him to school to pick her up and as he ran to her, he called her name and when he reached her, gave her a big hug. Otherwise he is doing well.

I have not heard from Kim as to how Michael and Mackenzie did on their first day. I will eventually hear, I am sure.

Nothing really has happened this week to really write about, so this is going to be a short blog.

Please, all ways remember, I will always keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Happy Labor Day to all!

Happy Labor Day to everyone.
This Photo was taken by Joseph. What a great picture.

It has been a very productive 4 days off. Pool is closed, trees are trimmed, grass is cut, laundry is done. I am tired today. I trimmed some grass I did not get a chance to do on Saturday. I have had to water plants also, because it has been so dry here. Plants are still dying off and the trees are starting to turn yellow now. Next weekend I have to get the filter and heater apart and put away, as well as all the pool things.

Well, it is back to work tomorrow. I guess vacation has to end sometime. At least it is only for 3 1/2 days then the weekend off.

It has been a beautiful day today, about 84.5. Last night it was in the 40's. Looks like the next week will be in the 80's during the day and in the 50's at night. Is this FALL, or are we still in summer. I kind of understand if we are still in summer since winter was so late to leave this year. It has been good to barbecued every night. Just a quick hamburger with cheese. Something quick.

I heard from Amy today. She had to change her wedding until June 14th. Her Maid of Honor could not come in this February (she lives in MN), so she and Jason decided that a summer wedding would be best all the way around. This way there is only 1 party not 2, and it gives them more time to save up. She said her dad is going to get married in May. Mary is do back in NY tomorrow. She will be living in Utica.

A special Happy Birthday to Kady Jo. Tuesday is her birthday. She is my goddaughter and I speak with her as often as I can on line. She is in college in Utica and will be graduating in December. Then she will be off to RIT in Rochester. I wish her all the best in the world. Luke is out in CO doing very well also. Mary and Bruce have a nice vacation spot to visit if they wish. Love to my special family.

Pastor called on Sunday and invited the Rizzo's and me to a corn dog roast, unfortunately, John and Diana were out 4 wheeling and a picnic, their usual Sunday thing, and I was watching Evie for Diana. I called and thanked him very much for inviting me, but I had to decline.

School starts this week! Please say a special safety prayer for Michael, Mackenzie, and Kiersten as they start school. May the Lord protect them and keep them safe.

I finished Accounting, but I still need to do my project. I am going to try to complete it before the weekend, then start my last class!

Well, I am going to let everyone go, it is getting late and I need to get my dishes cleaned up.

As always, everyone remains in my thoughts and prayers. Love to all.

Something I need to share with everyone.

I received this from Alice today and was very moved by it. I think everyone needs a little lift in spirit, so here it is. Instead of sending this email, I felt as many people can benefit from it being posted on my blog.

This has been around a few times but it's always good to be reminded and to pray for each other. The prayer has changed some since I first read it...I like this one better!!!

Psalm 55:22 --- you really need to read this.

"Friends are God's way of taking care of us."

This was written by a Metro Denver Hospice Physician:

I was driving home from a meeting this evening about 5, stuck in traffic on Colorado Blvd., and the car started to choke and splutter and die -

I barely managed to coast, cursing, into a gas station, glad only that I would not be blocking traffic and would have a somewhat warm spot to wait for the tow truck. It wouldn't even turn over. Before I could make the call, I saw a woman walking out of the "quickie mart " building, and it looked like she slipped on some ice and fell into a Gas pump, so I got out to see if she was okay When I got there, it looked more like she had been overcome by sobs than that she had fallen; she was a young woman who looked really haggard with dark circles under her eyes.

She dropped something as I helped her up, and I picked it up to give it to her. It was a nickel. At that moment, everything came into focus for me: the crying woman, the ancient Suburban crammed full of stuff with 3 kids in the back (1 in a car seat), and the gas pump reading $4.95.I asked her if she was okay and if she needed help, and she just kept saying " don't want my kids to see me crying," so we stood on the other side of the pump from her car. She said she was driving to California and that things were very hard for her right now.

So I asked, "And you were praying?" That made her back a away from me a little, but I assured her I was not a crazy person and said, "He heard you, and He sent me."

I took out my card and swiped it through the card reader on the pump so she could fill up her car completely, and while it was fuelling, walked to the next door McDonald's and bought 2 big bags of food, some gift certificates for more, and a big cup of coffee. She gave the food to the kids in the car, who attacked it like wolves, and we stood by the pump eating fries and talking a little.

She told me her name, and that she lived in Kansas City. Her boyfriend left 2 months ago and she had not been able to make ends meet. She knew she wouldn't have money to pay rent Jan 1, and finally in desperation had finally called her parents, with whom she had not spoken in about 5 years. They lived in California and said she could come live with them and try to get on her feet there. So she packed up everything she owned in the car. She told the kids they were going to California for Christmas, but not that they were going to live there. I gave her my gloves, a little hug and said a quick prayer with her for safety on the road.

As I was walking over to my car, she said, "So, are you like an angel or something?"This definitely made me cry. I said, "Sweetie, at this time of year angels are really busy, so sometimes God uses regular people." It was so incredible to be a part of someone else's miracle. And of course, you guessed it, when I got in my car it started right away and got me home with no problem. I'll put it in the shop tomorrow to check, but I suspect the mechanic won't find anything wrong.

Sometimes the angels fly close enough to you that you can hear the flutter of their wings...

Psalms 55:22

"Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee. He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved."

My instructions were to pick four people that I wanted God to bless, especially for the months in 2007 , and I picked you. Please pass this to four people you want to be blessed.

Here is the prayer:

"Father, I ask You to bless my children, grandchildren, friends, relatives, blog and email buddies reading this right now. Show them a new revelation of your love and power. Holy Spirit, I ask You to minister to their spirit in a special way this very moment. Where there is pain and suffering, grant them healing. May they enter into Your peace and mercy. Where there is self doubt, release a renewed confidence that they can do all things through Christ who strengthens them. And dear Lord, help us to remain close to your precious heart so that when someone needs an angel, we would be happy and ready to stand in the gap for them. LORD God, make your face to shine upon us eternally. In Jesus' precious and holy name. Amen."

Happy Beautiful Saturday Morning!

It is a beautiful morning. Only 50 degrees this am. Great sleeping weather.

Well, I did not get the pool closed yesterday. I will get it done this am. I have to vacuum it and then put the pillow in it, then the cover. I am not going to drop the water until I get all the chemicals, still short winterizer.

Spoke with John this am. Plans on flying today. It should be a nice day for it. I hope the kids enjoy seeing grandpa fly his plane. He also plans on swimming again today. I am jealous about the swimming. I would love to relax swimming, but it is too COLD.

I hope to get the grass cut today so I do not have to do anything for the next few days, except maybe wash, wax, and vacuum my car for the fall.

I hope everyone has a great Labor Day weekend!

As always, everyone remains in my thoughts and prayers. Please stay happy, healthy, and safe.
